License a venue for marriages or civil partnerships
You can apply for a venue licence to host:
- civil marriages
- civil partnerships
It costs £2,480 to apply for a licence. The fee covers the costs of the advertising and consultation process.
Before you begin
Venues must ensure that rooms are:
- available for public access during the time of the ceremony
- a permanent structure with a roof
Outdoor structures may be permitted depending on location and suitability.

We will talk you through the process, let you know what you'll need and provide an application form and invoice for payment.
Promoting your venue
If your application is successful, we'll invite you to place details and photos of your venue on our Celebrate in Buckinghamshire website. This will include a link to your site and an entry into our ceremony brochure.
