Certificate of existence
A Certificate of Existence (also called a Proof of Life, Certificate of Life or Letter of Existence) is a document produced by foreign governments for pension and insurance companies that may request that a trusted entity to confirm that an individual is still alive. This is in order to continue to pay.
When you present your document seeking signature and stamp, you must:
- have an English translation of the document
- appear in person
- either appear on the current Register of Electors for the property or show us your passport (not a copy) or an alternative picture form of identification (for example a driving licence, utility bill, etc)
We are able to sign and stamp a Certificate of Existence if you can provide the above documentation and attend the council in person.
