Spending, contracts and transparency
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 requires all public authorities to provide public access to the information they hold. This means that we need to publish certain information about what we spend and how we work.
Some of this information is published as open data, this means information that can be automatically read and processed by a computer and easily reused.
Making this information available as open data:
- helps to promote government transparency
- encourages people to use this information to make products and services that benefit everyone
