Help users find and view an event
Event page template
When to use this template
Use this when you want to list a local event on the Buckinghamshire Council website. Create your event listing as a child page from the Events index.
This template is for use by Buckinghamshire Council employees.
![Event pages use a title with a short introduction to explain what the event is about.](https://buckinghamshire-gov-uk.s3.amazonaws.com/images/event_title.width-650.png)
When not to use this template
Don't use this template for general news items. Use our news template instead.
How it works
In the template, add details about:
- when the event starts (date and time)
- when the event ends (date and time)
- where the event is happening
Event dates and times appear under the title at the top of the page.
Add a short introduction or call to action to encourage people to come along. This will appear above your body copy.
Describing your event
Add some body copy to tell people about:
- who the event is for
- why the event is happening (for example, as a fundraiser, celebration or commemoration)
- if the event is part of a wider initiative (such as a national competition)
- where they can book tickets or register, if required
- where they can find out more
- who is hosting the event
If you are promoting several events across Buckinghamshire as part of a series, use the postcode lookup component to help people find one closest to where they live.
Other places to promote your event
There are also a number of other places to advertise events such as:
