Citizenship ceremonies

Types of ceremony

Citizenship ceremonies are usually done in groups. You can also ask for a private ceremony if you have specific reasons for needing one.

Group ceremonies

Group ceremonies include up to 25 other people at a time and are arranged by the citizenship team on your behalf.

A registrar will conduct the group ceremony which will last around 30 minutes and will take place in one of our offices in Buckinghamshire.

Private ceremonies

You can ask for a private ceremony if you:

would like more than 2 guests to attend your ceremony
need a ceremony at short notice
would like a different day, time or location to the one scheduled for you

Private ceremonies can take place in either our Aylesbury or Beaconsfield offices. There are additional fees for private ceremonies.
