How we support local places and businesses

Our Economic Development Team works with community boards and other key stakeholders to develop a network of vibrant and connected places drawing on each of their unique strengths and assets.

Through the development of a Visitor Economy Strategy, we're working with strategic partners such as Buckinghamshire Business First and Visit Buckinghamshire to more effectively share the offer of our places and businesses to visitors and residents to encourage economic activity.

We aim to coordinate the activities from place to place to bring about a programme of strategic place-based initiatives which will help to achieve economic growth.

Supporting town centres and high streets

The county has a wide range of vibrant town centres, each with their own identity, character and history.

Buckinghamshire Council is committed to supporting high streets to meet the needs of those that live and work in the county. We have done this by working with local partners, business representative organisations and town centre businesses.

Through the use of evidence gained by analysing footfall and occupancy data, we have been able to create initiatives to aid town centre development.
