About the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF)
Introduction
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) is a central pillar of the UK government's Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment across the UK by March 2025. The Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK, investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.’
We were awarded £5.8 million in January 2023 from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) which is part of the government's Levelling Up agenda.
The funding is designed to support existing Levelling-Up activity that would have been lost by the ending of EU funding.
Aligning with other Levelling-Up activities
Activities funded by the UKSPF align with other local Levelling-Up activity including:
How we will use the funding
We have developed an Investment Plan with partners and stakeholders across Buckinghamshire.
We will continue to work with these organisations to decide how we use the funding.
The UKSPF investment priorities
The UKSPF has three investment priorities.
We will fulfil this priority by helping households to make energy-efficiency improvements and reduce household greenhouse gas emissions.

We will fulfil this priority by strengthening local entrepreneurial ecosystems and supporting businesses to develop with:
- nonfinancial support
- creating opportunities for businesses to adopt new technology
- safeguard jobs
- create jobs

We will fulfil this priority by giving employment support for economically inactive Buckinghamshire residents. We will:
- help get them closer to mainstream provision and employment
- give life and basic skills training, including:
- digital
- English
- maths
- English for speakers of other languages (ESOL)
- give career skills for people who are unable to access training through the adult education budget or wrap around support
- help them to search for jobs
- prepare them for work and sustained employment
