Pavilion Quarter regeneration project, Aylesbury

About the project

We are regenerating the area around the former Gala Bingo building in Aylesbury town centre.

This will become a cultural and entertainment district called The Pavilion Quarter, named after the former cinema on the site.

It will include small business and start-ups.

It will provide a lively and welcoming community and cultural space with potential to host events, as well as creating new routes around the town centre.

Aylesbury town centre regeneration

The Pavilion Quarter will link the Exchange development with the High Street, opening up new opportunities to further rejuvenate the High Street.

There will also be an opportunity for entertainment with the creation of a dedicated space with potential to stage music and cultural events.

It will give an overall ‘lift’ to Aylesbury town centre and is a key part of our work to regenerate our major town centres.

About the works

We've appointed the contractor Colemans to carry out the first phase of the works, to demolish the former Gala Bingo site.

We've worked closely with them to minimise the disruption to residents, businesses and visitors.

When the works start

The first phase of works will start in November 2024 and last for 24 weeks (with a 2 week break for Christmas).

Location of works

The works are happening in the High Street, Aylesbury, on the site of the former Gala Bingo building. Behind the site is Exchange Street Car Park.

Parking restrictions in Exchange Street Car Park

26 spaces will be unavailable in Exchange Street Car Park during the first phase of the works.

This includes all of the EV charging spaces.

252 spaces will still be available and the town centre will also be accessible.
