Finding children adoptive parents who will help them grow and flourish.
Some children have to wait longer to find the right family
The children in our care who are seeking adoption are all waiting to be part of a family that will help them grow and flourish and that will guide them so that they can fulfil their full potential, even though they may have had a difficult start in life.
Due to their circumstances, though, some of our children usually have to wait longer to find the right family.
When children have to wait longer, it is often because they:
- are a little older
- are brothers and sisters who need to stay together
- have additional needs because of significant developmental delays in many areas
- have non-white ethnic heritage
Could you offer any of these children a bright future?
Watch a short film on the rewards and challenges of adopting children who wait longer.
How we support you after adoption
Although incredibly rewarding, parenting does present challenges too. That’s why our post-adoption team is on hand to provide expert ongoing support to all our adoptive parents, including those whose children have additional needs. Find out more about the support we offer adoptive parents.
Who can adopt?
You can adopt as a couple or as a single person
All that we ask is that you can provide a child (or children) with a stable, committed, and loving family. Sexual orientation is not a barrier to adoption, for example many of our adoptive parents are in same-sex relationships. Find out more about the factors that we take into account when someone wants to adopt.
Our online Adoption Ready checker lets you explore the different aspects of becoming an adoptive parent.
