Could you foster
Being a foster carer is a big commitment, but it can also be incredibly rewarding. No one comes to fostering ready-made. We will support you every step of the way and can help you develop the skills to become the best foster carer you can be. You may not realise some of the skills and experience you already have can help you on your fostering journey.
- If you can wipe away tears and be there when they need you…
- If you can be a shoulder to cry on...
- If you can listen without judgement…
- If you can show kindness and empathy…
- If you can be patient and stay calm under pressure…
- If you can put others first…
- If you can solve problems…
- If you can work as part of a team…
- If you can adapt…
- If you can teach…
- If you can protect…
- If you can care…
- If you can set boundaries…
…. you could be a foster carer.
You can apply to become a foster carer if you:
- have a spare room exclusively for a child
- are single, married, in a relationship, already have children or are from the LGBTQ+ community.
- are over 21 years old; and
