Leisure centres

Who's eligible

Foster carers are eligible if they have:

  • been approved as a foster carer by Buckinghamshire Council (they're eligible from the Buckinghamshire Council agency decision date)
  • taken their first child in care

Children in care are eligible if they're:

  • 11 to 15 years old
  • 16 years or older and are a student or in education

Eligibility for the offer will be reviewed at the end of each financial year and is at the discretion of the council.

Who's not eligible

Foster Carers are not eligible if:

  • they're an approved foster carer but have not taken a child in care
  • they have retired, or resigned as a foster carer
  • they become subject to an open standard of care investigation
  • the council have deregistered the foster carer from Buckinghamshire Council (even if they make a successful appeal against the decision)

Everyone Active also offer a national scheme aimed at ‘cared for children and care experienced young people.

About the leisure centre perk

Up to 2 registered foster carers per household are entitled to free health and fitness memberships covering swim, gym and classes and can be used at any time.

All placed children in the foster carer’s household are entitled to the free health and fitness gym and swim memberships. This includes:

  • children aged 11 to 15 years old
  • students or people in education aged 16 or above

It is the foster carer's responsibility to observe the health and safety rules and terms of use of each leisure centre.

Family swim and soft play

The family swim and soft play annual voucher allows up to 2 adults and up to 4 children per session for a maximum of 4 sessions in any one financial year. The choice of sessions can be any mix of family swim or soft play.

The foster carer will be notified of which centres offer the family swim and soft play sessions.

About the pass

An adult must always accompany children when visiting the Museum or Gallery.

What it covers

The annual pass covers standard entry to the museum and Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery.

It does not include entry to crafts, or special events which can be booked as a paid for optional extra.

Types of pass

A family of 4 pass is for either:

  • one adult and 3 children
  • 2 adults and 2 children

A family of 5 pass is for either:

  • one adult and 4 children
  • 2 adults and 3 children

How to apply

The annual pass is a physical pass which is ordered through the museum’s digital ticketing system.

We'll provide foster carers with a promo code. Passes must be collected in person at the museum ticket desk on the day of first visit by presenting the order confirmation email received.

For all further visits throughout the year, foster carers must either:

  • show their annual pass
  • provide some ID so that they can be found on the museum’s database

Passes can be used until the expiry date, even if a foster carer has been deregistered.

Country park events

Who's eligible for the events

Foster carers are eligible if:

  • they have been approved as a foster carer by Buckinghamshire Council (they're eligible from the Buckinghamshire Council agency decision date)
  • they have taken their first child in care

If eligible, you'll be provided a promo code to be used when booking the events. The code is also only for the use of the registered foster carers for their own family bookings and must not be shared with others. Any abuse of code use will be investigated.

Foster carers are not eligible if:

  • they're an approved foster carer but have not taken a child in care
  • they have been deregistered, retired or resigned as a foster carer

  • the council have deregistered them (even if they make a successful appeal against the decision)

Families with more than 2 children

Family tickets are for up to 2 adults and 2 children.

For foster carers booking events with multiple foster children, including sibling groups, they should contact the Country Parks Team directly at [email protected].

Forest schools

Forest schools, including Tots Go Wild and Families Go Wild are weekly sessions within Black Park Country Park during school term time.

Tickets are only required for children attending these sessions and multiple carers may also attended without booking.

Trails

Trails, including SEND inclusive sessions, are paid for themed trails within Black Park Country Park during school holidays.

You should be aware that free trails may also run during these periods and tickets do not need to be purchased for this.

Outdoor entertainment

Outdoor entertainment events are limited to cinema and theatre events within Black Park Country Park during school holidays.

Both adults and children require tickets for these events, including any additional carers.
