Review of parish arrangements in High Wycombe

On Thursday 24 August 2023, we decided to carry out a Community Governance Review (CGR) of High Wycombe.

High Wycombe is currently one of the few places in Buckinghamshire without any parish or town councils.

Background of the review

In 2019, the former Wycombe District Council carried out a CGR which was suspended due to the movement to a unitary council in 2020.

Since then there have been changes in how the county is governed and recently there was a review of Buckinghamshire's electoral boundaries.

These changes have meant that a new CGR is needed.

What we will consider in the Community Governance Review (CGR)

On 24 January 2024, the Council decided that the High Wycombe CGR should focus on two questions.

The public will be asked for their views on:

  • A) whether the existing governance arrangements for the area of High Wycombe are sufficient or could be improved, OR
  • B) whether the currently unparished area of High Wycombe should be parished and have a town council for the whole area

How to give us feedback

We are holding a public consultation from Monday 12 February to Sunday 7 April.

All households in the unparished area of High Wycombe will receive a pack about the consultation, with a FREEPOST form to use to send us feedback.

You can also give us your feedback, comments or questions online or by email:

When the consultation has ended, we will consider all of the replies and propose an outcome.
