Review of parishes and wards in Buckinghamshire

Review of the number of Newton Longville Parish Councillors

Background of the review

Following a request received Newton Longville Parish Council, Buckinghamshire Council’s Standards and General Purposes Committee agreed on 4 April 2024 that the proposal proceed to a Community Governance Review.

Proposal

Newton Longville Parish Council have proposed an increase in the number of parish councillors from 8 to 10.

This is being proposed because of an increase in workload caused by increasing population and taking on the management of the community hall. Also, a development of 1,855 new homes is being built in the parish over the next five to ten years.

No changes to the parish boundary are being requested.

Standards and General Purposes Committee considered the request at its meeting on 4 April 2024 and agreed for a Community Governance Review to be undertaken.
