Welcoming Spaces are free, safe and supportive spaces that you can visit.
They offer somewhere to:
- look after your physical and mental health
- get access to support information and Wi-Fi
- enjoy the company of others
- find local groups and activities
- keep warm
They're run by:
- Buckinghamshire Council
- council partners
- other local organisations
How to find a Welcoming Space
Welcoming Spaces are currently available at our main libraries and community libraries, as well as some local churches and halls.
Our online directory provides a map and full list of local Welcoming Spaces including their location and facilities.
We also provide a full list of local food banks.
Our main libraries provide friendly, accessible spaces for people to:
- sit and read or chat
- use public computers - for example, to apply for financial support, food vouchers and other schemes
- access our free Wi-Fi
- join in with social groups and activities
- find information about our Helping Hand support scheme

Community libraries are smaller than our main libraries and space can be limited.

Getting to your local Welcoming Space
If you do not have access to private transport, there are public and community transport options to help you reach your local Welcoming Space.
