There are 6 types of Council Tax related appeals that the Valuation Tribunal can look at, these are:
If you’re unhappy with a Valuation Office Agency decision not to change your band.
If you’re unhappy about who the council has decided is liable to pay, or with a decision that relates to discounts and exemptions.
If you’re claiming Council Tax Reduction and are unhappy with a decision relating to your claim.
If you believe that the date used for a new or altered property to appear in the valuation list is incorrect.
These are issued by the Valuation Office Agency and detail why they believe you have not followed the correct process to challenge your band.
If you disagree then you may be able to appeal.
Councils can issue penalties where false or no information has been given as requested.
