Apply for a Council Tax discount for UK Armed Forces accommodation

UK Armed Forces accommodation are exempt from Council Tax:

• if they are owned by the Secretary of State for Defence
• if the property is held for the sole purpose of forces accommodation
• wherever they are located
• whether they are occupied or not

Armed Forces accommodation includes:

• barracks
• accommodation on military bases
• married quarters

As part of your application, you will need to submit confirmation from the Ministry of Defence that your property is part of UK Armed Forces accommodation.
