Book a session in our Virtual Searchroom

If you can't visit us in person, you can book a session in our Virtual Searchroom to see original documents live and in real-time.

You can view up to 5 documents from our collections via Microsoft Teams.

A member of staff will be there to support the session by:

• making sure equipment is set up correctly
• arranging the records for you to view
• providing basic subject information related to the records

We will try to provide as much information as possible but if you need a lot more detail on a subject, you may want to request and pay for a historic search.

When you book, you will need to let us know:

• which documents you want to see (you can request up to 5 documents per session from our collection)
• the unique catalogue reference number for each item you want to see (you can find the reference numbers on our online catalogue or contact Buckinghamshire Archives)
• as much information as possible about your enquiry so we can find and prepare the correct pages before your session

We cannot produce more records on the day than what you have requested already.

We will end the session immediately if we notice that you are recording, taking photos of or screenshotting the session or items that we show you.

If you want your own copies, you can order copies of historic documents online instead.

We hold sessions on Thursdays and Fridays each week via Microsoft Teams, with 2 slots available on each of those days.

We will email you with the invitation before your session. We do not use Zoom.

You will need to book a session and let us know what you want to view at least 2 working days in advance.

We will extend sessions by 15 minutes if you experience technical issues. Otherwise, sessions will end on time.
