Archives vision and mission statement
Our Vision
Our vision is for the county's archives to be integral to the cultural life of Buckinghamshire.
We will work in partnership with other organisations to reach out and meaningfully engage with the county's diverse communities.
We will actively promote our collections, so they become an authentic source for celebrating and researching Buckinghamshire's rich history and heritage.
These will build on a foundation of excellent standards for customer care and collections management, irrespective of format.
Our mission
Our mission is to proactively collect records that reflect Buckinghamshire's diverse communities and have long term historical value.
We will ensure these records are preserved and catalogued to the highest standards.
Working collaboratively, we will promote our inspiring resources and play an important part in delivering Buckinghamshire's Cultural Strategy.
Our Collections form part of the county's collective memory, and we will ensure their evidential value is preserved for current and future generations to enjoy, regardless of background.
Buckinghamshire Archives, with its foundation of excellent standards for customer care and collections management, will focus on the four E's:
- Engage
- Excite
- Educate
- Empower
We also follow the council's Customer Service Standards.
