Rights of way Local Access Forum (LAF)
The Buckinghamshire Local Access Forum (LAF) is a statutory independent group which provides advice to the council and other organisations, such as Natural England.
It has the aim of improving public access in Buckinghamshire and its duties are set out in law.
Members
Members are volunteers and represent:
- user groups
- parish councils
- elected councillors
- land managers
This wide range of members help to improve public access while making sure the needs and interests of land managers and nature conservation are met. They provide advice, challenge and support to the council’s rights of way service.

Rights of way improvement plan
The LAF have been involved at every stage of developing the rights of way improvement plan (ROWIP) and will be closely involved with its delivery.
The council will provide regular progress reports to the LAF throughout the lifetime of this ROWIP and continue to seek their advice on strategy and policy.
