View the step-by-step process of what happens after reporting an unauthorised encampment (UAE).
Unauthorised Encampment is reported
We will send an email to UAE Management Group listing:
- details of the report (location, type of encampment, number of vehicles, names of individuals)
- details of the complainant
- notable features, for example waste importation
- landowner (if known)
Site Assessments
Thames Valley Police (TVP) and Buckinghamshire Council will need to visit to the site and conduct a site assessment.
TVP Initial Site Assessment will aim to:
- serve Code of Conduct
- identify landowner
- assess use of S61 powers
Buckinghamshire Council Initial Site Assessment will aim to:
- identify landowner
- assess use of Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 (CJPOA) powers
They will arrange a joint visit if appropriate.
Update provided to UAE
We will send an update email to UAE Management Group listing:
- confirmation of landowner
- status of encampment
- appropriateness of CJPOA Powers (S61 and S77/78) with reasoning
- agree lead authority
