Buckinghamshire Council Land Drainage Enforcement Policy
2. Purpose of policy
Currently many enforcement cases which are taken forward are in locations where the consequences of not enforcing are relatively insignificant. The aim of the policy is to focus on those cases where the consequences of not taking any enforcement action would result in a high likelihood of flooding with a large impact.
The enforcement policy is required to:
- clarify the circumstances in which BC’s enforcement powers under the LDA 1991 will be implemented
- ensure that enforcement decisions are transparent
- ensure that enforcement procedure is consistent
