Support with Pension Credit applications

Buckinghamshire Council is hosting support sessions at the county’s libraries and community hubs for people who may be struggling to apply for Pension Credit.

From September 2024 the previous ‘universal’ Winter Fuel allowance will only be available to people over the state pension age (currently 66) who are receiving Pension Credit (or a limited number of other benefits). We predict that up to 5,000 Buckinghamshire pensioners who are eligible are not claiming and could be missing out on benefits up to £3,900 per year. Find out if you or someone you know could get Pension Credit or take a look at how to apply.

If you’re struggling to complete your Pension Credit application or have any questions, please visit one of our local libraries for information, advice and support.

You’ll need to bring the information listed below to complete your application (if you have a partner, you will also need their information):

  • National Insurance number
  • Information about any income, savings and investments you have
  • Bank account details
