About the park and facilities
The park is a traditional urban park and it's the main open space in Marlow (it covers about 23 acres).
It's on the High Street but also benefits from access to open countryside and is a superb location on the River Thames. It's large enough to host events including a circus and fun fairs.
The park has:
- indoor and outdoor catering
- public toilets
- fine trees
- formal flowerbeds
- a brick in grass maze (created by Adrian Fisher to mark the Millennium)
- access to Thames Path walking trail
- wetland, protected for wildlife (including kingfishers, swans, ducks and other waterfowl)
- a statue to Sir Steve Redgrave (Olympian rower)
It's been a public park since 1926, although as a garden it dates back to 1758. There are 1,000,000 park visits every year.
It's also a Green Flag Award-winning park (the quality benchmark which recognises well managed parks and green spaces).
