Homeless and temporary accommodation
What type of property you will be offered
You may be offered a private rented property or a property via Bucks Home Choice via a single direct offer or Direct Let. This will be detailed in our decision letter to you.
The property will be assessed as suitable and affordable and may be a flat, studio, bungalow or house depending on your family composition. The property will be in a location deemed suitable for your household, taking into account factors such as employment, education, caring responsibilities and support networks. We will write to you when we make an offer to you and you will be expected to accept the property.
Where an offer of accommodation is suitable and affordable, and you refuse to accept the property the council will end its duty to you and to ask you to leave our temporary accommodation. You must discuss this with your housing advisor immediately.
You should move into the property offered whilst seeking a review of the suitability of the offer if required, to protect your position, as a further offer will not be made if the property is deemed to be suitable for the needs of your household on review.
