All aboard the Multiply Bus!

Buckinghamshire Adult Learning is delivering free numeracy workshops across Buckinghamshire as part of its Multiply initiative, and between Monday 13 February and Friday 24 February, you can hop aboard the new Multiply Bus as it visits Aylesbury, Chesham, and High Wycombe.

Multiply is a new government-funded programme to help adults (19 years+) who do not already have a maths GCSE at grade C (or equivalent) improve their numeracy skills. The scheme is part of Buckinghamshire Council’s new ‘Opportunity Bucks’ programme which aims to improve outcomes for people in Buckinghamshire. Gaining new skills and qualifications can open up a range of opportunities for people, from new jobs to greater confidence in everyday life.

Buckinghamshire Adult Learning’s team will be promoting its free numeracy courses in local communities by taking the new Multiply Bus to visit popular hotspots in Aylesbury, Chesham, and High Wycombe. Anyone interested in improving their everyday maths skills or looking to boost their confidence with numbers can benefit from the free Multiply workshops. Visiting the Multiply Bus gives you the opportunity to speak face-to-face with an expert who can help you find the right course for you.

There’s plenty for everyone to ‘takeaway’ from top tips, useful tools and interactive problem solvers.

Anita Cranmer, Cabinet Member for Education & Children’s Services commented:

“Anyone can benefit from boosting their confidence with numbers. Numbers are unavoidable in everyday life and improving maths skills can help with tasks such as managing shopping budgets, understanding bills and helping children with homework.

“The Buckinghamshire Adult Learning team will be on hand over half term and the week that follows to promote numeracy courses which could help transform your daily life, from making the most of your money, to getting a new job.”

Joining the Buckinghamshire Adult Learning team at the Multiply Bus will be the council’s Community Engagement team, talking about the Opportunity Bucks programme which offers residents the chance to help shape, improve and reduce inequality in their local area
