Be a Better Biker is back for 2025

Be a Better Biker (BaBB) workshops can help bikers take their skills to the next level.

Whether you want to improve your riding skills, are returning to motorcycling or just want to get up to date with the latest training. The workshops will be running in and around the Thames Valley from March through to July in 2025.

BaBB, now in its 16th year, is delivered by advanced riders from the IAM Roadsmart throughout the Thames Valley. Supported by local councils (Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes, Berkshire & Oxfordshire) and local Fire and Rescue Services.

The workshops cost £25 per participant and are being held in various venues. The first workshop in Buckinghamshire is on Saturday 29 March at Chesham Fire Station with further dates and locations available throughout the Thames Valley.

The course was developed by Buckinghamshire Council with the aim of reducing the number of bikers killed or injured on the roads.

Steven Broadbent, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Transport at Buckinghamshire Council, said:

“Buckinghamshire has some of the best biking routes nationally and attracts riders throughout the country to explore our beautiful English countryside. Come rain or shine, riders explore the rural roads passing through spectacular villages which date back to 14th century offering plenty of refreshments stops and fantastic views.

“In the last three years*, 98 riders and pillion passengers have been killed or seriously injured in Buckinghamshire and we want everyone to be safe on our roads. Buckinghamshire Council is very happy to be supporting the workshops which aim to improve safety and enjoyment for all full motorcycle license holders.”

Whether you ride a superbike, classic, or tourer, if you have a full Category ‘A’ licence and live or ride in Buckinghamshire and in the Thames Valley area, you’re welcome at BaBB.
