Inspired to teach in Bucks? Visit our recruitment fair this Saturday to find out more

Buckinghamshire Council, together with a range of local partners, is hosting a teaching recruitment fair this Saturday (4 February) and anyone interested in finding out more is encouraged to attend.

Teaching is a rewarding and fulfilling career, offering individuals a unique opportunity to inspire future generations, take on new challenges and share their passion for learning. Great teachers come from all backgrounds and include newly qualified graduates, those who’ve gained experience in other careers and those already working in a school or education environment.

The Teach in Bucks Fair, which takes place at the Buckinghamshire New University campus in High Wycombe between 11am and 3pm, will include presentations from a number of organisations including the Department for Education, Now Teach and a number of local school and university-based Initial Teacher Training providers. The event will include all the information needed on how to train to become a teacher including how to apply, the qualifications needed, the different routes into teaching and training programmes around the county. There will also be information on the scholarships and bursaries available.

Anita Cranmer, Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Children’s Services said: “There is no better time to start a career in teaching. By hosting this partnership event, we hope to encourage all those who are interested, to come along and find out more. We are passionate about promoting the fantastic opportunities available in Buckinghamshire as a place to learn to teach and hope to inspire a new generation of teachers for our children in Bucks.

“As a former teacher myself, I know from experience what a rich and fulfilling profession teaching can be. We want to support anyone interested in becoming a teacher to ensure they have access to everything they need to succeed. So please come and see us this Saturday and take what could be that all important first step onto an exciting new career pathway.”
