Next steps for King George V House site in Amersham announced

On 26 February it was announced that the Even Group has purchased and will now develop the office and car park site on King George V Road, Amersham.

The former Chiltern Offices staff car park beside the KGVH office building will be closed permanently to all from 16 March. This was not a long-term public car park but serviced the Chiltern Offices. It was only open to the public during evenings and at weekends.

Councillor John Chilver, Cabinet Member for Accessible Housing and Resources said: “ The council has a massive house building target imposed on it by central government. If we are to protect our Green Belt and beautiful countryside, we must make maximum use of surplus buildings and land. This scheme will generate significant new housing towards our target, whilst also providing affordable homes for local people on our housing waiting list close to the town centre.”

A spokesperson for the Even Group added:

“The Even Group are delighted to have successfully acquired the King George V building in Amersham and are looking to bring forward an exciting demolition and new build residential scheme on the site which will include affordable housing complying with planning policy. Even Group are experienced residential developers and this site in Amersham represents a significant opportunity to create a new exciting residential development. We look forward to sharing our designs and thoughts soon.”
