If your application is unsuccessful we will:
- write to you and explain why
- give you details about the next stage of the process
Applying again
An unsuccessful application does not stop you from making another application in the future.
You can apply again 6 months after your original application refusal date if your condition changes. You will need to supply new evidence to support your application.
How to request a review
If you do not agree with our decision and you have further evidence to support your application, you can request a review. Send us a letter or email to:

Once we've received your request, we will send a review acknowledgement that outlines the next steps.
You must make your request for a review within 28 days of us refusing your application.
