A parking fine is legally known as a penalty charge notice (PCN).

Why it's important to check

If you've received a penalty charge notice (PCN) from us, you may be trying to decide whether to pay the charge or appeal.

If you decide to pay, the charge is discounted by 50% if payment is received within 14 days from the date the PCN was issued.

You should not pay a parking fine if you want to appeal. This page provides useful information to help you decide.
