Appeal a parking fine if you were stopped in a restricted area outside of a school

There are some scenarios where appealing your parking fine (also known as a Parking Charge Notice or PCN) could be successful and some where you should consider paying instead.

Where it's unlikely an appeal would be successful

You are liable to pay if you were stopped in a restricted area outside of a school, even if you:

  • have a Blue Badge
  • were loading or unloading
  • were not causing an obstruction

None of the above allow an exemption from stopping on zig-zags outside of a school.

You can pay your PCN online.

Where your appeal may be successful

Appealing the PCN does not guarantee the PCN will be cancelled. Each case is reviewed individually on its own merit and in consideration of the circumstances.
