How to pay for parking in a council car park
You can pay to park in a council car park in 5 ways.
Not all these payment methods are available in all our car parks. See individual car park listings for payment options.
When paying at a machine on site, the machine will clearly indicate if the payment has been accepted.
If the machine produces a ticket you must ensure it is clearly displayed in your vehicle before leaving the car park; put the ticket on your dashboard, and check the details can be read from the outside.
If the machine is ticketless, the payment details will be transferred to our officers handhelds – there is no need to display anything in your vehicle.
Credit and debit cards and coins are accepted methods of payment.
Not all machines accept all methods of payment.
If you pay using coins, you will not be given any change.
