Report an empty or broken salt bin
Salt bins (sometimes called grit bins, grit boxes or salt boxes) are located around the county for residents to use.
Salt bin refill
Existing salt bins will be refilled between September and November.
Should we have a snow event or bad period of weather, where resources allow, we may refill during the season.

Report a damaged salt bin
We will replace damaged salt bins that were provided by us as long as our resources allow. In some cases, this may mean the bin is removed for safety reasons and not replaced until after the winter season.

What we need to know
Help us locate the problem quicker by providing:
- images (if safe to do so)
- a description of damage
- a description of its location (for example, outside house number 25)
All of our salt bins are marked individually on the map. Select the correct one to report it.

How you'll be updated on reports
When the issue or defect has been assessed we will update the online report and send you an email.
