Report littering from vehicles
If you spot someone littering from a vehicle and have photograph or video evidence of the offence, you will need to tell us as much as you can including the:
- location of the littering (you can plot this on a map)
- vehicle make, model and registration details
- time and date of the offence
- description of the items that were thrown from the vehicle
You can upload images of the vehicle and litter being thrown from the vehicle.
We can't currently accept uploads of video footage through Fix My Street but we can contact you after you've made your report to request this evidence.
We're asking for this evidence as part of the For Bucks Sake campaign.
All reports of littering from vehicles are private and will not appear on Fix My Street for the public to see. The Waste Enforcement Team will contact you after you submit the report.

- plot on a map the location of the issue or offence
- submit photographs
- add comments
- sign-up for alerts to check what has happened since you reported the issue or offence
Penalty for littering from a vehicle
If you throw litter from a vehicle, we can issue you with a penalty notice if you're the registered keeper of the vehicle even if the litter is thrown by someone else in the vehicle.
You will have to pay the penalty notice unless you're able to prove that either:
- the vehicle was kept by another person at the time
- it was someone else that threw the litter from the vehicle (you will need to provide their identity)
