Find out if a tree is protected

A Tree Preservation Order is an order made by a local planning authority to protect specific trees, groups of trees or woodlands.

An Order prohibits the trees or woodlands from:

  • cutting
  • uprooting
  • lopping
  • topping
  • wilful damage
  • wilful destruction
