Apply for a primary school place
Submit your application
If you live in Buckinghamshire, you can put up to 6 schools on your application.
What you'll need
To apply, you must submit evidence to verify the address used in your child’s application.
If you are the Council Tax payer you will usually only need to provide your Council Tax account number.
If you are not the Council Tax payer, you must send us an electricity bill dated within the last 3 months showing energy usage at the property you live in with your child. This can be either:
- a scan of a paper bill
- a digital copy downloaded from your electricity supplier
On your application, you must tell us your child’s normal home address. We'll use this information to help us decide which admission rule is right for your child.
If your child lives between two addresses, the address in the application must be where your child spends most of their time during the school week. Find out more about shared or joint residence.
If you move house before September 2024, contact us to update the address in your child’s application. You'll need to send us evidence of your house move.
Additional evidence
If relevant to your application, you may also need to provide:
- a supplementary information form (send this to your preferred school)
- evidence if a child is adopted, fostered or in local authority care (send this to us)
- evidence if you're applying under the exceptional medical or social needs rule (send this to us if it is a community school, or to the school itself if they are an academy or church school)
- evidence that your child is entitled to free school meals or pupil premium funding (send this to the school if they have this as a rule - few primary schools have this rule so you will need to check)
Apply online
The deadline to submit your application was 15 January, but you can apply for a late application below.
Late applications
If you've not applied for a primary school place by 15 January, you must submit a late application.
Late applications can affect your chances of getting into your preferred school as places may already be taken.
