Apply for an asbestos waste permit
You will need a waste permit to dispose of asbestos at a household recycling centre.
Dealing with asbestos and what we will accept
When removing the asbestos keep it damp. Do not saw it, cut it, break it or rub it in. Asbestos sheeting must be wrapped in accordance with HSE guidelines.
Double wrap it in 1000 gauge polythene (which can be purchased from any builders' merchants') and tape it up securely.
We will only accept asbestos where:
- it is bonded
- all wood, glass, plastic and metal has been removed
- it is double bagged and wrapped
It should be equivalent to either:
- 4 sheets (2.4m x 0.9m)
- 3 normal bin bags worth

- Aston Clinton
- Aylesbury
- Beaconsfield
- Langley
- High Wycombe
Recycling rules for waste permits
There are some rules for waste permit holders:
- site staff can refuse entry to residents who need a permit but do not have one
- all waste brought to the site must be from the permit holder's home
- the householder who applied for the permit must be there when the waste is brought to the recycling centre
- once the time limit has run out on your permit, you must renew before you visit again
- no business waste allowed to disposed of using a permit

Apply for a permit
An asbestos waste permit lasts for 1 year and you are allowed 3 uses. The permit is free to apply for.

To access an existing permit, you will need to log in to your account.
Using your permit
After you've applied for your permit:
- we will send your e-permit via email with a QR code
- you will need to present the QR code to site staff (either in electronic or paper format) before you can dispose of any waste
