Severe Weather Emergency Provision

The weather is exceptionally hot. For guidance on what to do if you see someone sleeping on the streets of Buckinghamshire see Severe Weather Emergency Provision (SWEP).

Due to the anticipated hot weather bin collections will now commence earlier

Due to the hot weather and our commitment to the safety of our collection crews, all bin collections will now take place from 6am on Thursday 10th July and Friday 11th July. Leave your bins out the night before or no later than 6am on your collection day.

Donate for reuse

You can help to reduce waste and support a local charity by donating for reuse.

Items for reuse can be donated at all 10 household recycling centres.

Items are collected from the household recycling centres to be sold at the 2 reuse shops, run by South Bucks Hospice at Aston Clinton and High Wycombe Household Recycling Centre.

The top ten items the reuse shops are always looking for are:

  • Branded hoovers (Henry, Shark and Dyson)
  • Flat screen televisions and laptops
  • Power tools
  • Bikes (all sizes, past their best or even parts of bikes)
  • Furniture - such as chest of drawers, desks, mirrors. These need to be assembled
  • Outdoor furniture - chairs, tables
  • Garden items - barbeques, garden tools, plant pots, ornaments
  • Children's toys - action figures, board games, ride-ons, dolls houses (all toys need the CE safety label)
  • Antiques - train sets, memorabilia, chests/trunks
  • Musical instruments
