This information shows where waste and recycling from Buckinghamshire households is sent for processing. Once recycling materials have been sorted, they become commodities in the worldwide market. This means that some materials may travel abroad where there are better developed industries for recycling. There is a small percentage of material sent outside of the UK for recycling.

All the data is taken from Waste Data Flow  which is a web-based system that collects and reports data on waste collection and disposal (which is used by all local authorities in the UK).
