How to dispose of your Christmas tree, wreaths, holly or mistletoe
You can dispose of your natural Christmas tree, wreaths, holly and mistletoe:
- at your nearest household recycling centre
- with our garden waste collection service which will resume from Monday 27 January 2025
- many groups like the Scouts or Young Farmers offer a paid for collection to raise money for charitable causes - your town or village may have one
Before you do though, remember to:
- remove any decorations
- cut the tree into smaller, manageable pieces before placing in your garden waste bin
If you have an artificial Christmas tree, wreaths, holly or mistletoe:
- The best option is to pack them away and reuse next year
- You can donate items you no longer need to any of our 10 Household Recycling Centres where they will be taken to our 2 Reuse shops at Aston Clinton or High Wycombe HRC, which are managed by South Bucks Hospice.
- If they have reached the end of their life you can dispose of them in your household bin (if they fit) or at your local HRC.
