Flag Protocol

The Royal Standard (see Appendix B) should be flown from Council buildings during official visits by members of the Royal Family. It must be raised upon arrival and lowered upon departure and should only be flown for the duration of the visit.

The Civic and Lieutenancy Officer is responsible for liaising with the Household of the visiting Royal Family member to ensure the Royal Standard arrives at least 48 hours prior to the visit.

The Royal Standard takes precedence over all other flags and must be flown in the superior position during the visit.
