Chairman’s Award: make a nomination
The Chairman’s Award is the highest honour our Chairman can give to individuals and organisations in recognition of their outstanding or exceptional contribution to the social, economic or environmental wellbeing of Buckinghamshire.
Examples of contributions include:
- exceptional or long-standing voluntary service which benefits others in the community
- making a difference to local people or communities
- helping to improve the local environment
- helping to transform neighbourhoods or make them safer
- improving the health and wellbeing of the local community
- acts of heroism, bravery or initiative that have helped protect or save lives
- outstanding achievements or success in a chosen field, such as sport, art, culture, science and innovation (if this has made a difference or improved the quality of life for others)
Nomination criteria
The award is granted at the discretion of the Chairman to individuals of any age who:
- live in Buckinghamshire
- are from Buckinghamshire
The Chairman will not grant the award to:
- elected members of Buckinghamshire Council
- officers or paid employees of Buckinghamshire Council
- people who were paid for the activities they're nominated for
- profit-making organisations and commercial businesses
- people who self-nominate
- previous award winners in the last 3 years
Posthumous nominations are not allowed.
